The Brain grades moneylines and point spreads separately. It weights market quality from sportsbook margin (15%), real break-even price value against peer fair consensus (35%), sportsbook agreement (25%), coverage (15%), and freshness (10%). A+ requires 84–100. Raw no-vig win or cover probability is shown as context, while line value must clear the captured price's actual break-even probability. Negative, neutral, and sub-gate price value caps the overall letter so coverage alone cannot manufacture an elite grade. This is a deterministic market-evidence model, not an independent team-performance prediction model, and it does not guarantee a result, profit, or predictive edge.
The official pick is the strongest qualified candidate across both moneyline and spread boards from a current, complete same-run provider refresh. It must be pregame, B/70 or better, fresh, supported by at least three current sportsbook lines, at least 45 agreement, 50 coverage, 55 line value, and positive market-implied EV. If it misses any gate, the official ledger records No Pick. Qualified selections lock once per Eastern date; results use official scores and a flat $100 stake at the captured line. The best-supported ledger freezes the raw daily #1 from that same scan without the official thresholds, creating a forward-only control that shows whether the gates add value. Neither ledger is backfilled. Spread results apply the frozen point value before grading win, loss, or push. Whole and half-point spreads are eligible; quarter-point handicaps are excluded because they require split-stake settlement. Current official record: not started; raw #1 control: not started. Official running total: —.
The ledger captures one consensus snapshot 0–75 minutes before the official pick starts. Positive moneyline CLV means the captured price implied less probability than the closing consensus; positive spread CLV means the frozen point was better than the closing consensus. Results are labeled collecting until at least 30 settled picks—small samples are not proof of skill.
