Free member accounts

When membership is available, we process your email, optional first name, password, age and terms acknowledgement, and optional marketing choice. We store a salted password hash, verification status, consent timestamp and version, and hashed verification, recovery, and session tokens. Raw passwords and token values are not stored in the account database. Account data is used to provide access, recover accounts, prevent abuse, and protect the service.

Creating an account does not require marketing consent. Requested updates require a separate email confirmation. Unsubscribing does not remove free member access. We do not enroll you in unrelated Viral Worx marketing or sell your email address.

What we collect

When you subscribe to optional email updates, we store your normalized email address, consent timestamp and version, confirmation and unsubscribe state, digest preferences, delivery history, and provider contact identifiers. We use one-way hashes for confirmation, preference, unsubscribe, and abuse-prevention tokens.

Why we use it

We use this information to confirm consent, deliver the Daily Edge Report you requested, enforce email quotas, prevent abuse, process unsubscribes, and diagnose delivery reliability.

Service providers and retention

Cloudflare hosts the application and database. Resend processes subscriber contacts and email delivery. We retain subscription records as needed to honor consent and suppress mail after an unsubscribe. We do not sell subscriber email addresses.

Cookies and local storage

The public board and Brain evidence do not require email signup or a browser access marker. Optional email signup does not write an access marker. Older site versions may have left a timestamp in local storage; it contains no email address and does not authorize access. You may remove a legacy timestamp by clearing this site's local storage.

Member sign-in uses an essential secure, HttpOnly session cookie. Sessions expire after 30 days or seven days without activity and can be ended by signing out. Password recovery invalidates existing sessions. The site does not set analytics or advertising cookies. Account verification and recovery links are removed from the visible address when opened; tokens remain in page memory only while completing the request. If non-essential tracking is added later, this notice and consent controls must be updated before activation.

Anonymous campaign measurement

Campaign links can carry a signed, identity-free campaign token. We measure successful public-page requests on the server using bot-filtered request measurement. Known bots and prefetch requests are excluded using request headers in memory; growth records do not retain IP addresses, user-agent strings, referrers, or query strings. This measures requests, not unique people, and bot filtering is imperfect.

Campaign attribution uses no advertising cookie. The browser holds the token and original public landing path in page-session memory, removes campaign and UTM parameters from the visible address, and passes attribution only when you submit a subscription or registration request. It is not stored in browser storage, member sessions, or confirmation links. We do not share your email address as part of campaign measurement.

Pending attribution becomes ineligible when its signed campaign token expires, and always within seven days of submission; scheduled cleanup removes it afterward. Anonymous delivery attempts stop at the seven-day expiry, and delivered outbox records are scheduled for deletion once 30 days have elapsed since delivery. Viral Worx retains anonymous campaign aggregates for 13 months. These events contain campaign, variant, public landing path, event type, and time information, without subscriber or account identity.

Account retention and requests

Account records are retained while needed to provide membership and protect the service. Expired authentication tokens and sessions are eligible for removal. Contact Viral Worx using its published contact details to request account access, correction, or deletion. Minimal subscription suppression records may be retained to honor an unsubscribe.
